The opening was good.

However this was lost at 0:44, the techno style instrument introduced there did not fit in the piece at all, and only made the whole piece worse.
However the circus style theme that came in at 0:16 was good, and this worked well. At 1:53, the plesant sound introduced was very good.

If you re-submitted this with taking out the techno instrument or altering it, then the piece will be much better.

Romwell responds:

Thanks ! I'll try replacing synth lead with brass or something softer, or play with it and see what I get.

One of the more random songs I have heard.

Fun and thrilling, the way you mixed them together created a style that I enjoy, and the songs that you chose to mix are actually good and work together like this.
Amusing and enjoyable, I liked it.

WritersBlock responds:

If you listen hard enough you can hear the vocals from stardust crazy.
And if you play it backwards, it syncs up with the wizard of oz! =D

That was very nice.

Though the opening was a bit to quiet, and so was the closing.

I could see the Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver style behind some of this music, a good style especially if you are planning to make something with Vampires. The drum and the instrument behind it works perfectly together. The main problem is how the opening and start does last to long.

I enjoyed it overall.

Rottenbeard responds:

Thanks for the review. Glad it at least conjures up images of blood sucking monsters! ;).

The intro and outro are indeed long, they're intended to establish a desolate sounding mood prior to the introduction of the drums. I realize it won't be to a lot of peoples taste, but I like trying to meld soundscapeish ambient sort of stuff into other styles of music. Experimentation is how one learns!

Works well.

I especially like the opening 4 seconds, it fits perfectly in with the main theme.
The main theme itslef is perfectly looped throughout the remainder of the song, and it changes slightly with the electric sound in the background, this keeps the interest rather than loosing it via repetitive sounds.
Good work, I myself would think this has a slight futuristic feel to it.

Vultyrex responds:

Thank you. I'm thinking on expanding the actual song longer than what it really it. Maybe include some new transitioning as well.

haha, addicting.

Pure indulgence, great and addicting, holds a special place in my heart.
This reply needs more yiff.

You're the Best Mike. Simply the best.

This sounds very good.

It has a great fighting style to it, it sounds great. I liked how you did all of it really, it has a rather simple yet complex feel to it.
I am now going to have a look for this "Baten Kaitos"
One flaw would be that it did not loop.
Great work, and keep it up.

Beartheshadows responds:

It would naturally loop, I just didn't feel like putting it in there. Thanks though. Glad you like it.

Rena...

Very good and funny, Nice use of Speakonia in there as well.
Rena...

Keep up the good work.

Little-Rena responds:

Thanks, lol.

It has a good style.

The first 10 seconds were very good, however the last 2 or 3 where you added the drum stlye instrument did not work well for the short time that they were on. You should have extended this for a bit longer, or took it out and left the frist part looping.

The sounds used were nice and strange yet gentle, with exception to the previously mentioned instrument.

It would be good to see more loops / songs in this style as it is nice.

Not sure whether it was due to this but an action script error occurred on the visualisation causing it to stop, it may just be a problem with the site though.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the review! Much appriciated! :)

Enjoyed this a lot.

The vocals as many have mentioned, were very good, These vocals grabbed my attention immediately which made me focus on the whole song, this makes it very good and effective. However the vocals were cut out mid speech at 0:17, this looses the atmosphere slightly.

The same problem for the vocal cut of is present at 0:40 as the instrument goes quiet but then cuts off during the sound, there was still another second before the next part began and I think you could have let it last for another half a second.

I personally like the sudden change in the style after 0:41 and I think it adds to this piece a lot.

However the time it took you to make this does seem far to long, music at the most should take a few months. Though it is good to see that you used this time to make it good.

A very good song here. Also a download, keep up the good work : )

Thankz for comment, and yeah, i have some problems with the vocals and FL.

A very good piece of audio, loved the style.

I especially liked the opening and the other creepy parts of this, those in themselves if you were to release them separately could be used in quite a few submissions. This whole piece together though, I can see being used for a good horror / puzzle / surreal platform genres of flash games. It also has a slight Madness availability as well.

I especially like it at 1:00 when it begins to pick up, this is done very well and the long 30 seconds, makes it slide gently in to the new style, which works very well compared to a quick change.

The build up over the 2:20 time works very well and this works with the quick introduction of the drum etc.

This piece was made with perfect instruments for this style in my opinion, and I can see it being a very good addition to anything it was put on.

It is hard to fins areas that need improving here, I might say that the ending cuts of a bit to suddenly, though this may add to the style, but it may be bad if it was to be used looping in a game, though this could easily be altered by the user.

I like this so much that i am making it a favourite and download : ) And I would like to ask what program you used to create this, if you can add it in the reply.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like it so much. My main purpose for this song wasn't primarily for flash, but it would have some good applications in appropriate flashes, but it is a large song, so instead of looping it, I would expect that a flash artist would only use a section of it, or something like that.

About the programs used, it was all FL studio 7, and it only had 4 instruments + drums, I think. And they all had varying amounts of effects and junk layered onto them to bring out the creepiness of it all. But I also used some sounds on my keyboard (helicopter ^_^) for background, as well as a bit of random guitar. But for the main part it was FL Keys, 3xOsc and a couple of free VSTs, I think there was one there that was solely ambient sounds, a bit of rain. But a lot of it was experimentation, and it was fortunate that everything came together so neatly.

Cheers for the fav and DL.

A would be game designer though procrastination is a cruel ally.
