The nice variety of references throughout the choices including Final Fantasy and Earthbound scenes made this one stand out a bit more from the previous, that including the daisy chain of bonuses for the sword medal increases the entertainment value playing for sure. A good positive step and would be nice to see even more variety added to any sequels.

PuffballsUnited responds:

Thanks! I'm quite proud of those two scenes

A decent game, I enjoy the fact it is a 16bit take on it. However the edges of the screen where you can go could be more well defined, I found myself walking into what looked like an exit only to be unable to travel in that direction. As a whole a decent game, lacking in scares but that is to be expected with using a concept which doesn't really work in 2D, but it was still done to the best of what it could achieve which is better than expected.

Now waiting on an Atari version.

Bakariboss responds:

Hmmm Atari version...doable :)

Fun little game, Dash is very hard to beat but still had some fun wandering aimlessly around and talking to the ponies.

Donitz responds:

Glad you liked it! There may be a few secrets in there too

a bit eye sore at the city.

Its a fun little game, the buildings going past is a bit of a pain on tired eyes though, but it did help to make the game more difficult.

Kevin responds:

That part was rushed beyond belief, thus causing some shitty building background I made.

<3 u Ragna

You have the basis of a game.

Though it is far to easy and repetitive, I am one for repetitive games but in this concept it does not work, there should be more than one type of enemy some that need one weapon to be taken out, or needs to be shot at a specific point, this would make it more enjoyable as there would be more input into the game which would increase the interactivity.

The guns them selves should have different attributes and have ammunition meaning that the player cannot just continually click the mouse button and win.

The graphics are reasonable though you still could improve on this.

Give creativity a go on enemies and weapons, maybe change the background evrey few waves as well.

black-raven responds:

some good ideas u have there, in the art and concept u can see another enemy figure i was planning on giving him a gun and let him shoot back, but i later decided to save that for a newer version.
it is pretty repetitive yeah but well my actionscript isn't really that great yet, i'm gonna study the platform tuts on as:main and then see what i can make for a second game, i'll also will try to add more guns that actually are difirent and add amo, i'm thinking for the next game to make a actual side scroller with the enemys being semi-stationary and the player seeking them as he progresses.

maybe u can give me some tips on improving my arts, because i'm not that great and i find that i did pretty good here (except for the blood)

anyways thanks for reviewing

It was like a classic old game.

I always loved playing the old style games especially in their prime and this brings back those memories.
I was not a big fan of the double jump, this made it to easy compared to one larger jump.
I have played a version of this on Debian and I believe you could try to make a new one based on this. The game featured insane control where if you moved and jumped depening on a small amount of movemnt it could send you up or flying out of control, this could be a sequel you could give a go.

In the end there was several things that let it down, mainly graphics during the game area, if you do decide on a sequel you should try and improve on this.

Was this endless or was there an end? I died rather early so I was un sure, but endless games where you go untill you die are always a great hit.

Keep up the good work.

ThomasAquinas responds:

Thanks for the comments! An end!? Where you rise from the dead... Part 2: "Escape from the un-dead hell zombies"

Simple idea but effective.

I liked the space level the best it was much harder than the war one especially the startd where it changes it zooms in. The songs were not very good though, but overall the game was nice to play.

BurningBunnies responds:

Glad you liked it, hbomb did the space level and I made the war one. I wasn't really sure which were harder than the others so I kind of went with me instinct.

Thanks for playing! =3

Usefull stuff :)

I helped try to put this in the flash tutorials section so that it can help more beginners like myself :) Make some more if there is anything else you want to add.Tutorials are always usefull :)

The flash ran smooth it did not fail to load incase you wanted to know.

mrjanga responds:

Good! I will delete that part of my comments.

Great game

"Now watch as I shoot through my own shield. No he's a mad man" :) great overall and that was the first thing I tried. Nice use of ParagonX9 for that aswell together they helped to lift the game even higher.

I will try to add this to the video game remakes section along with the asteroids one for you as I think it bolongs there for everyone to see :)

Transisco responds:

Thanks for that. Love the Futurama quote lulz!

M4KBOT responds:
